Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube published a video reflecting on recent events especially with YouTube Rewind 2018.
Last year, YouTube Rewind 2018 became one of the most-disliked video on its OWN platform. Breaking a record with almost 16 million dislike, and even Susan Wojcicki’s kids thought that it’s cringey.
“we unexpectedly broke a record with Rewind, creating the most disliked video on the Internet. Even at home, my kids told me it was ‘cringey’.” She said in the video.
” We hear you that it didn’t accurately show the year’s key moments, nor did it reflect the YouTube you know. We’ll do better to tell our story in 2019.” She follows.
YouTube’s most subscribed YouTuber, Felix Kjellberg (also known as PewDiePie), said that he’s amazed that they admit their mistakes. But Felix jokingly says that it will be also better if YouTube include him this year 2019 in YouTube Rewind.
Susan also talked about the Article 13, thanking everyone who made a huge impact last year by talking about the consequences through videos, by signing the petition and by sharing to everyone who can also make a huge impact.
